Who We Are

Reserve Batch is a small-batch artisan cookie business based in Orange County, California. We operate as a licensed California Cottage Food business. Our website is reservebatch.com and our contact email is hello@reservebatch.com.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, join our waitlist, place an order, interact with us at a pop-up event, or otherwise engage with us. By using our website you agree to the practices described here.

What We Collect

Information You Give Us Online

  • Email address — when you sign up for the waitlist or create an account
  • Name and phone number — optionally provided at account creation or checkout
  • Birth month — optionally provided to receive birthday perks through our loyalty program
  • Payment information — collected and processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number
  • Order details — items ordered, quantities, and order totals

Information Collected In Person

When you interact with us at a pop-up or flea market event, you may choose to identify yourself to receive loyalty credit for your purchase. In that case we may collect:

  • Email address — provided verbally or via your account QR code to look up your account and log the sale
  • Phone number — optionally provided if you prefer to be looked up or contacted by phone
  • Purchase details — items purchased and total, logged to your account to credit loyalty points and tier progress

Providing any information in person is entirely voluntary. You can complete a purchase without identifying yourself — you simply won't receive loyalty credit for that transaction. In-person data is stored in the same secure systems as online data and subject to the same protections.

Information We Collect Automatically

  • IP address and browser information — logged at signup for anti-spam and security purposes; not used for advertising or tracking
  • Cookies — used only for session management (keeping you logged in) and basic analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

We collect the minimum information needed to operate our business. We do not build advertising profiles, sell data, or share it with third parties for marketing.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Send you a confirmation email when you join the waitlist
  • Notify you when a new drop opens for pre-orders (waitlist subscribers only)
  • Process and fulfill your orders and send order confirmations
  • Operate our loyalty program — calculating tier status, points balance, and birthday perks
  • Attribute in-person purchases to your account when you voluntarily identify yourself at a pop-up event, so that loyalty points and tier progress are credited correctly
  • Manage Reserve membership billing through Stripe
  • Send transactional emails related to your account, orders, or membership
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud

We do not use your data for behavioral advertising, retargeting, or any purpose not listed above.

Email Communications

We use a third-party email delivery service to send transactional and notification emails. All recipients have explicitly opted in by submitting their email address on our website. New subscribers receive a confirmation email and must click a link to verify their address before being added to any notification list (double opt-in).

Types of Email We Send

  • Waitlist confirmation — sent once when you sign up, to verify your email address
  • Drop announcements — sent to confirmed waitlist subscribers when a new batch opens for pre-orders
  • Order confirmations — sent after a successful purchase with order details and pickup information
  • Loyalty notifications — tier status changes, birthday perk activation
  • Reserve membership — welcome email, billing reminders, and payment notifications

Unsubscribing

Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link in the footer. You can opt out at any time by clicking that link. We also honor one-click unsubscribe requests from email clients that support it (RFC 8058). Unsubscribing removes you from all non-essential communications. You will still receive transactional emails directly related to an active order or membership until that relationship concludes.

Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers necessary to operate our business:

  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information: stripe.com/privacy
  • Email delivery provider — transactional and notification email sending
  • Cloud database and hosting infrastructure — secure storage of customer accounts, orders, and loyalty data, and website hosting

Each of these providers is bound by their own privacy and data security policies. We share only the data each provider needs to perform their function.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy.

  • Waitlist email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
  • Order records — retained for seven years for accounting and tax compliance
  • Loyalty program data — retained while your account is active; deleted upon account deletion request
  • Reserve membership records — retained for the duration of your membership and seven years after cancellation for financial record-keeping

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing hello@reservebatch.com. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days, except for data we are legally required to retain.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. These include encrypted database connections, row-level security on all customer data, server-side-only access to sensitive credentials, and TLS encryption on all web traffic.

Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. We do not see or process raw card numbers at any point.

No system is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@reservebatch.com.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information.

Your Rights

  • Right to Know — you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, including the categories of data collected, the purposes for which it is used, and any third parties it has been shared with
  • Right to Delete — you may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions
  • Right to Correct — you may request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Right to Opt Out of Sale — we do not sell personal information. This right is not applicable, but we state it clearly for transparency
  • Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights

How to Exercise Your Rights

Submit a request by emailing hello@reservebatch.com with the subject line “California Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days. No fee is charged for reasonable requests.

We are a two-person small business. If you have a question about your data, emailing us directly is the fastest path. We read every email.

Children

Our website and services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify active customers by email. Continued use of our website after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
